Scoring
GitStars.io scores are ranking helpers, not universal quality scores. They are designed to answer different questions.
Score families
Section titled “Score families”| Score | Purpose |

| Trending | Broad recent momentum |
| Rising | Fast relative growth |
| New Hot | Early momentum for newer projects |
| Star momentum | Star growth signal |
| Fork momentum | Fork growth signal |
| Activity | Recent repository freshness |
Confidence
Section titled “Confidence”Confidence reflects whether enough data exists to trust a score. Newly discovered repositories can be interesting while still having lower confidence.
Data quality
Section titled “Data quality”Data quality is affected by refresh age, star/fork snapshot coverage, provider availability, and repository state. Current issue and pull-request counts can appear on repository pages, but they are not used as historical chart series or score deltas.
